Intial Robot Hardware Specification

Dear LIREC partners,
Please find the initial draft robot hardware specification which UH and WRUT have produced as the first stage towards developing their respective new robot platforms for the next stage on the LIREC WebFile Manager page:

This document is the first initial specification for the robot hardware at this stage. It needs to be tested against the evolving requirements of the draft scenarios and almost certainly will require modifying in the light of these examinations.

It addresses the new robot software application and development only insofar as a broad agreement that all hardware will be accessible through the (middle ware layer) YARP device driver APIs and ports. It is envisaged that other partners will want to participate in the associated upper layer robot software specification and development, in conjunction with their own areas of expertise and interests. Therefore, the details of the software development (IDEs, APIs, functional modules, integration etc.) is left for discussion and agreement from all interested LIREC partners, which can hopefully start at the forthcoming LIREC meeting.
Please do make any suggestions or questions through the LIREC website forum on Hardware, Robot Specification, and all contributions are most welcome!
